Ah ha! Now I know why on the way home, I saw four helicopters circling around way up, two motorcycles and a bunch of police folks on 8th and Market, and about four or five security guys riding golf carts that read "big boys do their job well." Not to mention the CBS5 truck that I passed by too when I was walking to Walgreens to grab some snacks. I missed the action, but omg, helicopters. High-tech looking ones too. HELICOPTERS.
Oh downtown SF, how interesting you truly are. This is the intersection in front of my apartment where the protests happened. Too bad I didn't make it in time. But I saw helicopters. I like!

as some of you might know, i grew up appreciating only two types of music: classical (renaissance, baroque, the works) and anison. that meant that my tastes were kind of limited, until last year. it wasn't until last year that i started listening to all other sorts of music, and this "exploration" phase gave me a broader, much broader appreciation of all sorts of music, with all the differences making things better. consequently, for me, that meant i'd stopped listening to anison for awhile.
however, as i was randomly looking at all the files in my external hard drive (which i tend to do when i don't know what i'm in the mood for), i came across my Super Robot Wars DX OST album, which had all sorts of robot anime music jammed into it, but mostly the ones that got into one Super Robot War game or another.
i must say... i missed this. i really do. must be because i grew up with this kind of music so there's an innate attractiveness to it. what i'd like to think though is that, right now, i'm enjoying it even more because there's just a different kind of energy to it. something that i don't get from other genres (except for classic rock n roll, which will always be on top). especially the more "hot-blooded" tracks (e.g. gaogaigar and mazinkaiser opening themes). they just PSYCHE ME UP AS MUCH AS SHOT THROUGH THE HEART (*hint* reference *hint*).
guess it'll be anison for me for the next couple of days. might wake me up from... nvm. i really missed this.

I was just lying down and then heard this loud crash, then in less than five seconds, sirens. Now there are two police cars and a fire truck. Police and firemen at the scene in literally less than a minute. Damn they're good.
Oh, another fire truck's coming in. Must be serious. I hope no one's hurt too bad. |

About getting a job...
I can totally live with something absolutely tedious for the rest of my life.
But there's a catch. It has to be physical, and work should let me do as much (not as little) as I want to, and my pay has to be based on how much I accomplish. For example, I'd totally enjoy working in a factory production line, stacking cans or delivering them to places, provided that my pay is based on how many cans I'm able to stack / deliver. Or even being a plumber!
Of course, I'm more capable than that and these aren't such good examples because they're not high-paying jobs in the Phils either, but hey if it requires physical labor, count me in. I'd rather get fit doing my job than working out in a gym.
... NOW WHO'S WITH ME?
p.s. EXCEPT being a salesperson. I dislike having to score deals. It's way too connected to my emotional world, and my EQ's not something to be proud of. |

one concert and one midterm down! tomorrow's a downtime, but gotta prepare for a paper deadline and a presentation on Thursday, and a concert on Friday.
and i'm excited about a certain dinner/movie on Thursday.

a few good things happened today. one of them led to the dinner/movie thing. another was finally getting to talk to my favorite friend Taku who's been rather busy. still another was patching up with a groupmate that i hadn't been getting along with. all three instances just happened out of nowhere. i saw taku in the stairwell, and i met ms. groupmate in club ed, one of the school cafes, by accident. and the dinner/movie thing... really something random that came up we were started talking a lot... we hadn't been talking in awhile either.
this is not to mention that i had the solo in today's concert, and i'm satisfied with how i did. and the cheering afterwards reinforced that satisfaction. i've never been as happy as during my most recent birthday. i just love making music in front of an audience and doing well.
she did a good solo too. the dinner/movie person. i'm smittens.
the stars seem to be aligned well enough to favor me today. i'm happy.
things are starting to get interesting. |

i don't achieve much, sooo... bragtime! my prof used my ppt presentation awhile ago as an example for our class, and asked permission to use it as a sample ppt for her other classes. i am soooo proud of meself.
that's one presentation and two papers down today. time to prepare for the midterm and a concert tomorrow! |

I've been having a... most interesting experience with my management groupmates. We'd been groupmates since the start of the semester, so we've gone through... quite a bit. including a "love square" that i hadn't been aware of 'til one of our classmates pointed it out last week, but we'll get to that some other time.
right now, they... disappoint me. well, two of them. because one of them can't be bothered to work on a presentation that we have to present tomorrow, and another just keeps insisting on one part that had already been done because she claims first dibs on it for some reason. So now I'm stuck with covering up for two missing parts by tonight. and i have to explain to the other person that she has to do a different part, but i already made the ppt slides and script for her, because she can't do stuff on the spot. oh the joys of caring. good thing i'm on momentum mode right now. lots of kinetic energy! and lots of potential energy to turn into kinetic energy left still foooo!
but i've got my perks. i get to slack next project. i will refuse to work on it! |

i love lol moments, and this movie has tons of it. just remember to keep your pedophile tendencies in check, because Mayuko Fukuda is exceptionally cute. Beautiful even, with well-defined features, considering her age. Okay I'll stop now.

just finished watching the second death note movie.
it's surprisingly... excellent. it's amazing how much detail they were able to put into it despite the limited time. it felt a bit rushed, but that's part of being an adaptation. the ending's... much better. much much better. much better closure than what i got from the anime. i'm glad i watched the anime first, else the movie would've ruined it for me. now i'm finally over death note.
... srsly it's so much better. rave rave rave etc. i just lol at them using rhcp tracks though. |
